Abstract

A Pd supported on a metal–organic framework catalyst has been prepared and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray techniques. The designed heterogeneous catalyst Nd-MOF/Pd can promote the addition reaction of aryl boronic acids with dinitriles to give the corresponding β-ketonitriles in high yields at room temperature. Moreover, the catalyst can be recovered and recycled, running for five times without obvious loss of its reactivity.
