Abstract
Tigecycline and colistin are regarded as vital antimicrobials to treat multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections, such as that caused by carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE). Cooccurrence of mobile resistance genes conferring resistance to last-resort antimicrobials in E. coli remains unknown.
