David Duong, Bethany Holt, Chris Munoz, Todd Pollack
Abstract
Multiple high-level political declarations have elevated the concept and language of people-centred care as a key characteristic of health systems' purpose and function. This includes the 2019 and 2023 UN High Level Political Declarations on Universal Health Coverage, and the 2018 Declaration of Astana on Primary Healthcare. These global policy documents emphasise the importance of the meaningful engagement of people with lived experience in health policy making, health system design, and health care service delivery.
