Abstract

The present work concerns micropolar fluid flow through a porous cylinder embedded in another infinite porous medium. Expressions for stream functions, microrotations, couple stresses, fluid pressures, and stress tensors are obtained for both porous fluid flow regions. A new result for drag force experienced by the porous cylinder is reported. A well-known result of drag force for the porous cylinder embedded in a micropolar fluid is also deduced. Streamlines, velocity component, microrotation vector, drag coefficient, and tangential stress are plotted for corresponding flow regions and discussed.
