Review of glucocorticoid therapy in horses: Intra‐articular corticosteroids

Abstract
Summary This is the third article in a review series on the use of glucocorticoids to treat medical and musculoskeletal conditions in horses. This article in the series reviews the use of corticosteroids in the treatment of osteoarthritis and includes an appraisal of the most commonly used corticosteroids in equine practice. The regulatory rules concerning the use of corticosteroids are discussed, along with incidence, diagnosis and treatment of possible complications relating to intra‐articular therapy.
