Abstract
. This illustrates that the evolutionary trajectories of resistance to β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combinations are strongly influenced by the frequent and transient nature of gene amplifications and how the presence of multiple β-lactamases shapes the evolution to higher-level resistance.
