Isotopic labelling experiments and enzymatic preparation of iso-casbenes with casbene synthase from <i>Ricinus communis</i>

Abstract
Casbene synthase was used to convert GGPP isomers into iso-casbenes. The enzyme mechanism and absolute configurations were investigated through stereoselective deuteration. 13 C-labellings gave insights into the mass spectrometric fragmentation.
