HBF<sub>4</sub>-mediated direct alcoholysis of amides under mild conditions

Abstract
A metal-free, HBF 4 -mediated alcoholysis of amides under mild conditions is reported. This simple method enables highly chemoselective esterification of primary, secondary, and tertiary amides and challenging thioamides in excellent yields.
