Abstract

A series of novel coumarin-thiazolidinone hybrids 3(a-h) have been synthesized and the obtained compounds were analyzed by spectroscopic methods. New ccompounds were carried out for their in-vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities and have shown potential results. The compound (3b) has shown excellent antibacterial activity with MIC of 0.5 µg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and 1 µg/mL for Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosas. The compound (3d) was exhibited antifungal activity with MIC of 1 µg/mL against Aspergillus flavus, Trichoderma harzianum, Penicillium chrysogenum and yeast Candida albicans. Further, molecular docking investigation has been achieved against 1AD4 enzyme of antibacterial activity showed excellent binding interactions and is in agreement with the in vitro results.
