Abstract
A broadband NIR-II phosphor Li 2 ZnGeO 4 :Cr 4+ was synthesized. All the Cr ions are stabilized in the tetravalent state due to crystallographic control of the all-tetrahedron-built host, showing broadband NIR-II emission peaking at 1218 nm.
