Abstract
Abstract China, as the world's largest rice producer, is committed to efficient water use in rice production. After nearly 40 years of continuous research and development, studies and investigations, China has developed a series of controlled irrigation technologies and models adapted to local conditions, showing promising results for efficient water use in paddy rice. At the same time, the spread of controlled irrigation technologies at a large scale has achieved the effect of saving water, increasing yield and improving water productivity. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
