Abstract

A phase of the Industrial Revolution known as the Data Revolution resulted in a paradigm shift towards the Internet of (industrial) things. Traditional wired infrastructure-based remote research methodology and automation systems have paved way to be more modern, adaptable systems, including wireless technology, battery-powered devices, and wireless sensor networks. The study explored LoRa technology to implement industrial wireless networks for sensors and actuators throughout the industry 4.0 era. This article briefly introduces LoRa before contrasting its effectiveness in industrial applications with more conventional industrial wireless technologies. The anticipated widespread use of consumer IoT networks has prompted the development of new wireless technologies. The industry will find this intriguing as well. These innovations in communications and computer systems are integrated with the Internet in Industry 4.0.
