Insight into Ni active site coordination in nickel–manganese spinels for methanol electrooxidation catalysis

Abstract
The coordination environment of Ni active sites is probed for methanol electro-oxidation, and the high-symmetry NiO 6 octahedral structure in MnNi 2 O 4 exhibits superior catalytic performance to NiO 4 tetrahedral structure in NiMn 2 O 4 .
