Abstract

This paper includes a detailed analysis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) job market in the United States from the year 2022 to 2024. To understand changes and new emerging sectors, the study analyzes characteristics of job offerings in terms of titles, geography, required skills, and salary within a high volume job posting data. This evaluation identifies the skills, including Python programming and ML which are most in demand and remarkable disparity across regions within the United States. Moreover, the salary prediction achieved high accuracy using these attributes based on machine learning algorithms such as the Logistic Regression Model to estimate salary ranges according to job descriptions and experience and the Geographical Coordinates Model to estimate salary according to location. The paper also offers a geographical distribution of AI/ML jobs to show where these occupations are most prevalent, including major metro areas. The paper’s contribution for job seekers, employers, and policymakers is that the results can guide them toward better understanding the current requirements of the economic sector and towards closing the AI/ML skills gaps. Therefore, the study provides a snapshot of the current market and a forecast of the future demand for such skills as a foundation for any career and business development planning.
