Abstract
species were associated with the highest adjusted odds of mortality compared to that of negative cultures (adjusted odds ratio, 5.81; 95% CI, 4.00 to 8.44). Among high incidence pathogens, Staphylococcus aureus had the highest odds ratio of mortality (adjusted odds ratio, 2.14; 95% CI, 1.94 to 2.36). BSIs are associated with increased mortality risk, varying across organisms.
