Abstract

Abstract This paper contains the first descriptions of an assemblage of non-ammonoid cephalopods from the Upper Asselian-Lower Sakmarian limestones of the Shakh-Tau reef. In this paper 16 species of 15 genera belonging to orders Oncocerida (?) and Nautilida (suborders Nautilina and Liroceratina), of which seven genera and 13 species are new, are described. Two species are described in open nomenclature. Representatives of the order Oncocerida (?), as well as the nautilids of the genera Temnocheilus and Megaglossoceras, were found for the first time in the Early Permian (until now it was believed that they became extinct in the Carboniferous).
