Modeling of Forming Die Under Cyclic Loading Conditions

Abstract

The durability of the stamping equipment of the optimized form under cyclic loading conditions was considered in the work. The inner area of the die was approximated by vertical rod elements based on the stability condition. The durability of the die was determined based on the fatigue curve for three different types of cyclic loading, namely, impacts with a constant loading amplitude, as well as with a variable amplitude that simulates two-pass and three-pass stamping processes. The study patterns obtained for the minimum amount of stamp for this type of redistribution of material, as well as the results of calculation of stress-strain state for a single loading and comparative data of the durability of the stamp with the maximum and minimum number of loading cycles for different functions of force. The cyclic effect was approximated using a trigonometric Fourier polynomial. The calculation results allow us to obtain a model of an optimized stamp shape, which allows us to reduce material costs for their production.
