Abstract

Imogolite is an aluminosilicate of empirical formula (OH) 3 Al 2 O 3 –SiOH and hollow nanotube structure. It can be obtained from natural volcanic ash or via chemical synthesis. The inner and outer surfaces can be modified by various strategies.
