Abstract
This paper describes the critical review of different existing studies on medical diagnostic expert systems for diagnosis of various diseases. It includes studies based on simple rule-based approach, fuzzy logic, artificial neural network, neuro fuzzy model, k- nearest neighbor, Mamdani fuzzy model etc. This review paper has considered the studies from the last 18 years.
