Abstract
A carbon shell can capture iodine within its confined environment, N, P atoms play better in directing iodine reduction and FeP facilitates the facile FeI 2 decomposition, affording a Fe–I 2 pouch cell with an energy density of 146 W h kg iodine −1 .
