Abstract

The magnetocaloric effect of La 0.6 Y 0.07 Ca 0.33 MnO 3-δ is reported to cover a wide temperature range, including ambient temperature and cryogenic temperature, making it a promising material for magnetic refrigerators. Furthermore, the remarkable cooling power of La 0.6 Y 0.07 Ca 0.33 MnO 3-δ is much higher than that of well-known magnetic refrigerants like Gd, (La–Sr)MnO 3 , (La–Sr)MnO 3 , (La–Ca–Pb)MnO 3 , and La 1-x Ca x MnO 3 samples. La 0.6 Y 0.07 Ca 0.33 MnO 3-δ can be used as a single magnetic refrigerant in MR at room-temperature and cryogenic temperatures. Consequently, La 0.6 Y 0.07 Ca 0.33 MnO 3-δ is recommended as a potential magnetic refrigerant for various applications, including food refrigeration and nitrogen liquefaction.
