Oxygen – a fatal impurity for reversible magnesium deposition/dissolution
Toshihiko Mandai, Mariko Watanabe
Abstract
The systematic studies revealed that O 2 in electrolyte solutions renders magnesium metal negative electrodes electrochemically inactive due to oxide-based firm insulative layer formation through O 2 , magnesium, and electrolyte-related processes.
