Abstract
Rolling deformation (RD) pre-treatment was primarily applied to enhance plasma nitriding (PN) efficiency for FeCoCrV high-entropy alloy, and the effect of RD ratio on nitriding efficiency and wear resistance was investigated in this study. Microstructure, phase composition, hardness, and wear resistance were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Vickers microhardness testing, and wear testing. The results demonstrate that nitriding efficiency peaks at 30 % RD ratio, achieving a 28.15 μm compound layer and 43 μm effective hardening layer after PN (540 °C/4 h). Crucially, wear resistance improved 16-fold, with volume wear rate decreasing from 6.70 × 10 −5 mm 3 /N⋅m to 4.13 × 10 −6 mm 3 /N·m, and surface hardness increasing from 391 HV to 1173 HV.
