Abstract

We reported visible-light-promoted cleavage of the C(pyridyl)–S bond of S -2-pyridyl thioesters for highly regioselective pyridylthioesterification of styrenes via HNEt 2 -traceless-assisted formation of electron donor–acceptor complexes.
