An Integrated Framework for Achieving National Health Goals
Wayne B. Jonas, Bryant Adibe
Abstract
The Biden administration has called on Congress to address 4 bipartisan health aims for a national unity agenda: reducing the opioid epidemic, improving mental health, advancing care for veterans, and reducing the death rate from cancer. 1 Missing, however, is a clear overarching mechanism for achieving these aims-a singular framework designed to address the rapidly evolving health care needs of the US public and targeting the underlying determinants of health in these areas. In this Viewpoint, we propose a practical framework for accomplishing these goals that health systems and clinicians can adopt and policy makers can fund.
