IOT Based Smart Bus System

Abstract
Smart Bus System consist of multiple features, but the primary feature is automated ticket booking. The system has two units installed in the bus one at the entry gate and the other at exit gate. Each unit is use to scan the entry and exit instances of the passengers who will be carrying an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag that will be scanned by RFID. Each unit has a GPS module which will repeatedly update the bus location at specific short intervals which will be helpful in capturing passenger's location at both the instances. The system will calculate the fare for the distance travelled and reduce the fare amount from the passenger's E-wallet that can be managed in S-Bus mobile application. Apart from this, the system is also capable of tracking live bus location, so that the user can plan the trip as per that. As all the transactions are recorded in the database they are analyzed for planning the bus schedules and analyzing the frequency of buses needed on a route. Daily, weekly and monthly passengers travelling details will be analyzed through graphs and data through live data reception. Thus, smart bus is an efficient, convenient and highly reliable system which is capable of automated ticket booking, live bus tracking and strategic planning and management, which will eventually make passenger journey peaceful, saving paper through digitalization and save the effort and time for planning.
