Abstract
The condensation of aromatic aldehyde o-vanillin with suitable 4-[2-aminoethyl]morpholine have been formed the 3-methoxy-2-((2-morpholinoethylimino)methyl) phenol ligand(L1). Six lanthanum (III) complexes (LaL1, CeL1, PrL1, NdL1, SmL1, GdL1) and schiff base ligand (L1) were prepared, characterized and screened against in vitro anticancer activity using human breast cancer cell line (MCF7) at different concentration ranges (6.25,12.5, 25, 50 and 100 µg/ml) using a colorimetric MTT assay. The percentage of cell growth is found to be 42-45 %. In anticancer activity, marginal difference has shown for the morpholine schiff base ligand and lanthanum (III) complexes.
