Abstract

( Am J Obstet Gynecol . 2019;221:247.e1–247.e9) Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) is a perioperative care program that is standardized in various formats for disciplines including colorectal, urologic, gynecologic, and hepatobiliary surgery. ERAS has been shown to reduce hospital length of stay, complications, readmissions, and cost. Creating a standardized ERAS guideline for perioperative care in cesarean delivery will provide best practice recommendations for part 1 (antenatal/preoperative), part 2 (intraoperative), and part 3 (postoperative phases) with a maternal focus.
