Abstract
Visual Assessment of Diabetic Foot Ulcer plays a major role in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Since it leads to a significant health issue like major or minor amputation, inspecting the wound and taking manual measures to heal is an important task. Segmenting the wound area to provide the assessment of healing status was evaluated in the proposed paper. The study compares segmentation of Diabetic foot ulcer region using mask based segmentation, L*a*b* color space based segmentation and K-Means clustering. The experimental results obtained shows that K-Means clustering provided better segmented regions compared to the other two methods.
