Abstract

• One-component NiCo<sub>2</sub>Se<sub>4</sub> is synthesized. • The unique mesoporous tubular micro-nanostructure greatly improves the electrochemical performance. • Selenium with high electrical conductivity is beneficial for improving the energy density and power density.
