Abstract

Monitoring System for Attendance The usage of a biometric fingerprint sensor to track student attendance is the goal of this project. The fingerprint sensor is the most secure biometric and is used by many organizations to track employee, student, and faculty attendance. Biometrics has a wide range of applications around the world. Fingerprint and finger print recognition are combined in this project to track student attendance. The Raspberry Pi is used as the controller in this project. With an Arduino and a Raspberry Pi, a fingerprint sensor and a camera module are linked. The finger is scanned first, and then the fingerprint is recognised using the database. Final attendance will be recorded in reports. Keeping daily attendance data in real time and taking appropriate action is a critical duty. At the moment, attendance is normally recorded on paper sheets and in an outdated file system; however, technology is in the process of replacing the old method with a biometric system. It becomes tough for management to keep track of attendance and manually calculate a percentage of classes attended on a regular basis. The proposed system is intended to address the issues with the current attendance system. Biometric systems have been widely employed for identification purposes. These methods of recognition recognise persons based on certain physiological or behavioral characteristics. This method's main goal is to create a transparent attendance system and keep real-time data and display it online for parents and other academic purposes. Fingerprint Identification Attendance System is a dependable and simple to use system that produces accurate results.
