Abstract

The present investigation examines the structural performance of repaired recycled aggregate concrete columns reinforced with GFRP bars and spirals. Six samples were longitudinally and transversely reinforced with GFRP bars and GFRP spirals while other six samples were longitudinally and transversely reinforced with steel bars steel spirals. The effects of concentric compression, eccentric compression, the pitch of spirals, CFRP wrapping, steel reinforcement, and GFRP reinforcement on the axial strength, load-deflection response, axial deflection, strength index, stiffness index, ductility index, and failure modes of samples were investigated. The results depicted that the repaired columns portrayed a significant improvement in their structural performance.
