Abstract
This text describes the experience of internal nursing in the development of an intervention on family planning for women, in a group of pregnant women at the Family Health Center (CSF). This is an experience report, developed from the activities carried out with a group of pregnant women during the Internship I module, of the Undergraduate Nursing course at Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA), in November 2019. Illustrative images of hormonal contraceptive methods and barriers were exposed, where participants were asked to answer which methods were indicated and contraindicated in the postpartum period. Through the verification of mistakes throughout their responses, discussions were promoted, which, in turn, allowed them to identify the best method, aware of the risks and benefits of contraceptives. The construction of knowledge in the group of pregnant women about contraceptive methods contributed to awareness, understanding and security of women, making them active and empowered about themselves.
