Distribution and influence of forest fires on the ecological and radiation situation in radioactively contaminated areas

Abstract

The article discusses the main causes of forest fires in radioactively contaminated areas and the factors affecting the spread of fires and radioactive substances. It is certain that the main elements of influence on the ecological and radiation situation are the intensity and direction of migration of radioactive combustion products. It is proposed to use a model based on deflation parameters, such as radioactivity, maximum wind speed, using the results of experimental studies. The results obtained were verified by calculating the surface concentration of 137Cs released into the atmosphere after a forest fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. For the deflation intensity factor, graphical dependencies were obtained under various meteorological conditions.
