Abstract
In Spring 2020, public health agencies worldwide rapidly issued alerts about a rare, hyperinflammatory illness in children, presumed to be a post-infectious immune response to COVID-19, using somewhat different diagnostic criteria and nomenclature. In the US, the Centers for Disease Control and Disease Prevention (CDC) termed it the Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19.
