Abstract
the same mechanism along the Pr → Pfr conversion whereas the reverse Pfr → Pr photoconversion includes different proton transfer pathways. Finally, classification of phytochromes in prototypical and bathy (or bathy-like) phytochromes is discussed in terms of molecular structure and mechanistic properties.
