3-Nitro-coumarin synthesis <i>via</i> nitrative cyclization of aryl alkynoates using <i>tert</i>-butyl nitrite

Abstract
tert -Butyl nitrite was used to synthesize 3-nitro-coumarin from aryl alkynoates and this nitrative cyclization proceeded via 5- exo-trig cyclization followed by ester migration in a cascaded manner.
