Chapter 44. Mood Disorders
Jonathan Wai, Matisyahu Shulman, Edward V. Nunes
Abstract
Mood disorders and substance use disorders (SUDs) frequently occur together, and this comorbidity poses a significant challenge for clinicians across clinical settings. Effective management of patients with this comorbidity requires a sound knowledge of the diagnosis and therapeutics of mood disorders and SUDs individually and of how the disorders may interact to complicate diagnosis and treatment.
