Abstract
Telehealth is an emerging sector that enables doctors to remotely treat patients using virtual communication. This involves transferring medical images and other clinical data over public networks, presenting a significant challenge for radiology departments to safeguard the confidentiality of such data. Previous researchers have proposed various image encryption techniques, but none have been able to maintain an acceptable performance-to-security ratio. To address this issue, this research aims to develop an image encryption scheme that maintains this ratio using a combination of two chaotic maps: Baker’s map and 2D Logistic Sine Coupling map (2D-LSCM), along with image scrambling. The proposed algorithm’s performance and security are compared to other notable algorithms to demonstrate its effectiveness.
