Changes in spasticity following functional electrical stimulation cycling in patients with spinal cord injury: A systematic review

Abstract
CONTEXT: The FES-cycling intervention may reduce the lower extremities spasticity in patients with various injury levels of SCI. It is not a suitable intervention for medically unstable patients or with contraindication for lower extremities movement. Further randomized controlled trials with a large sample size strongly warranted to confirm our findings.
