Abstract

This article shows the results of an investigation carried out in 2019, at the Santa Teresita Higher Normal School, in the municipality of Lorica, department of Córdoba, the objective of which was to study the effects of the use of the project-based learning strategy (ABP ) through experimentation in the laboratory, as a teaching methodology of Natural Sciences. The study was observational and analytical cohort. The study was carried out with 65 students divided into two groups, one experimental, to which the project-based learning methodology was applied through a technique based on experimentation and use of the laboratory as a learning strategy and another group as a control. Using a conventional strategy. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.88 was applied where three variables were analyzed: cognitive competence, interpersonal competence and intrapersonal competence. The results show that students belonging to the experimental group, obtained a higher percentage per level in the three competences, with respect to the control group. In conclusion, the Project-Based Learning method turns out to be a useful tool to increase the capacity for analysis, conceptual richness, alphabetical knowledge and problem solving of experiments and laboratory practices, in the area of natural sciences.
