Abstract

In the amphoteric membrane-less decoupled water electrolysis, hydrogen and oxygen are co-produced in separate cells with higher energy efficiency. Ion exchange is mediated by the auxiliary electrodes – H x WO 3 for acid and NiOOH for alkaline cell.
