A quartet BCS-like theory
V. Baran, D. S. Delion
Abstract
We present the idea of using a BCS-like four-body coherent state to describe the quartet correlations induced by the pairing interaction in nuclear systems. We detail the many-body formalism necessary to bring the nontrivial quarteting ansatz into a computationally tractable form. We discuss the particularities of our approach in the case of a schematic isovector pairing model.
