Abstract
This chapter explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied to internet of things (IoT) communication networks to increase urban sustainability and connectivity. AI algorithms network performance has been enhanced by facilitating automated decision-making, predictive analytics, and real-time data processing. The urban infrastructure has become flexible with the environment. AI-powered traffic management systems that minimize pollution and congestion have been analyzing traffic patterns and optimizing signal timing. AI can be used for anomaly detection and encryption to improve IoT network security and privacy. It encourages trash management, environmental monitoring, and the development of smart grids, all of which improve urban livability and sustainability.
