Abstract

This study investigates the accurate measurements of high-frequency core loss using a capacitive cancellation method for low-permeability magnetic material, which leads to high leakage flux during measurement. We observe that the core loss is underestimated with the lower coupling of the core-under-test (CUT). To solve the issue, we propose a new correction method, in which the effective permeability observed during the measurement is measured, and the core loss is corrected with that permeability. The core loss is corrected by the proposed method even when high leakage flux exists.
