Abstract

Increasing environmental and economic issues leads to the accelerated developments of small scale Renewable Energy(RE) resources to be connected close to distribution system. They are called distributed generation (DG). Modern power system has both merits and demerits due to the presence of distributed generation. Even if renewable energy sources are green energy, easily available and economic, they are highly vulnerable to so many planned and unplanned issues like unpredictable weather conditions, storage requirements, drastic load change, etc. Integration of Renewable energy can affect the dynamic behaviour of the grid, which will vary with penetration level, location and technology of Distributed Generation which may influence the power system as a whole. This paper analyses the impact of renewable energy sources integration on power system performance by simulating an IEEE 14 bus system in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
