Exploring the Role of ChatGPT in Education: Applications and Challenges

Abstract
The development of ChatGPT as a sophisticated artificial intelligence technology has impacted numerous sectors, including education and research. The ChatGPT is a powerful large language model that allows students and educators to take advantage of many opportunities, such as personalized learning, lesson planning, and task reduction. While ChatGPT has the potential to streamline pedagogy and research, it poses a variety of challenges, such as allowing cheating on exams and homework, which puts students’ problem-solving skills at risk. Also, ChatGPT creates text that looks like human text, so cheating can be difficult to detect. In this paper, we explore the potential opportunities of ChatGPT in the education sector, as well as its limitations and challenges.
