Abstract

A novel approach to 3,4-dicarbonyl-substituted pyrazoles from 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and oxamic acid thiohydrazides was developed <italic>via</italic> iodine-promoted cascade imination/halogenation/cyclization/ring contraction reaction.
