Abstract
Underwater optical channel has strong and variable propagation, absorption and fading conditions which requires careful study. In this article we analyzed error-correcting codes performance in various conditions of underwater optical channel and orthogonal chirp division multiplexing for increasing optical communication systems service area. As coding algorithm candidates were applied main types of modern efficient error-correcting codes such as: product and convolutional turbo codes, LDPC and polar code. Analysis was performed for underwater optical channel model with fading coefficient distributions for various stretch of water conditions. We found the most compatible type of error-correcting coding scheme with OCDM modulation and the underwater optical channel using minimum of BER criteria.
