Abstract

This article is the first in a two part article (the second part [1] will be published in an upcoming issue of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine) that presents a bottom-up description of electromagnetic chirality, which occurs in materials composed of particles with structural handedness (see "Side Note 1").
